Our First New Orleans Teacher of the Month: Ms. Brittany Bartholomew

Brittany Bartholomew New Orleans Teacher of the Month, Our First New Orleans Teacher of the Month: Ms. Brittany Bartholomew

Earlier this year, we proudly opened a physical office location on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie. We didn’t just want to work in the community, we wanted to recognize the people who make it stronger every day. That’s why we launched the New Orleans Teacher of the Month campaign: to highlight the educators who show up, go the extra mile, and make a real impact on their students’ lives.

We’re proud to announce our very first honoree: Ms. Brittany Bartholomew of Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary.

She stopped by our office this week to pick up a $250 gift card from our team—a gesture to honor the time, care, and energy she pours into her students. Whether she uses it for her classroom or treats herself, we hope it serves as a reminder that her hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Ms. Bartholomew didn’t just receive one nomination—she received six, each from a different person who’s seen the difference she’s making. Here’s a look at what some of them had to say:

  • “Time and again, Ms. Bartholomew has demonstrated the qualities of a true leader, going above and beyond both in and out of the classroom to ensure her students are not only safe but also empowered with knowledge.”
  • “She stays for hours after school tutoring the students who can’t quite get something right. She won’t let them give up, because she never gives up on them.
  • “She’s spent over ten years building relationships with her students and their families. I can’t think of anyone more deserving.”
  • “I’ve personally witnessed the beautiful relationships she creates with her students as well as their parents.”
  • “Whether it’s in the classroom or outside of the classroom she is always making sure that her students are safe and feeling loved.”
  • “Brittany’s entire class excelled in state testing last year to the point that the principal made it so that she went up a grade level with her kids.”

We’re honored to recognize Ms. Bartholomew and grateful for the work she does every single day. If you know a teacher making a difference, we’d love to hear their story. Nominations for next month’s New Orleans Teacher of the Month are open!
