Gordon McKernan and Team Give Back to the Communities with GMIA Gives
GMIA Gives
Giving back comes easy to the Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys team. Every year, each of the law firm’s offices teams up for one large community volunteer initiative, but this past year, Gordon McKernan wanted to do something different.
McKernan, inspired by his charity arm, Gordon Gives, launched a new initiative called GMIA Gives. Instead of organizing a group volunteer initiative for each of his offices, he encouraged his employees to go out and volunteer for causes that are special to them. McKernan, in recognizing that everyone’s life and availability looks different, gave his employees six weeks and special paid time off to volunteer for a cause of their choosing.
To further support the local communities and nurture causes near to his team’s hearts, McKernan randomly chose three organizations that his employees volunteered with to each receive a $888 donation from Gordon McKernan injury Attorneys.
After six weeks of giving and dozens of entries from his employees, McKernan randomly selected the following organizations to each receive a $888 donation: Common Ground Community, Inc. in Shreveport, St. Joseph’s Diner in Lafayette, and Iberville Parish Animal Shelter in Plaquemine.
Under his charity arm, Gordon Gives, McKernan is active in hosting and supporting community-based events and causes. Whether it’s giving away bikes and backpacks, sponsoring a non-profit benefit, or supporting local organizations, McKernan is always finding innovative ways to touch the local communities.
